California CRT renewal.
Know what counts.
Start with the certificates and permits you hold. California renewal and your ARRT biennium can have different deadlines.
Check your CE requirements
- CRTs need 24 eligible credits completed in the 24 months before their California certificate expires.
- Include 4 credits in digital radiography. CRT fluoroscopy permit holders also need 4 in radiation safety for the clinical uses of fluoroscopy.
- Mammography certificate holders need 10 credits in mammography. This course does not include those credits.
- California credits must relate to applying X-rays to the human body and meet its accepted-credit rules. ARRT Category A approval alone does not establish that every topic qualifies for California.
Where this course fits
The course awards 24.75 ARRT Category A credits, including 4 in Digital Radiography and 4 in Fluoroscopy Radiation Safety.
Those two topic allocations are documented. A full 24-credit California allocation has not been established; patient-care content may not qualify as X-ray-related CE. Check your remaining credits before relying on this course alone for renewal.
Keep your renewal on track
Check the expiration date on your California credential, complete the required CE, and follow your CDPH renewal notice to submit the application, fee, and CE evidence. Use CDPH’s special renewal application if your notice is missing.
